1.

"Calendar"

Natalie Lynn
acrylic on canvas with special effects.
21" x 34"

$5,800

This painting formed over a few years.  It began with candles, then the Aztec Sun Calendar super imposed over the top.  The Mayan Calendar, which I study, is depicted on the left.  The Phoenix bird rises from flames representing transformation.  This painting has special effects—glitter and iridescent and gold paint are used.

2.

"Blow hunter"
Copyright©1999
Natalie Lynn
acrylic on paper
10" x 13"

$3,500

I dreamed this image exactly as depicted a week before I decided to go to Guatemala in 1998.  There I met a Mayan priest in the jungle who told me that the Blow hunter was my spirit guide, "Ajpu," who was also called "The messenger."

3.

" Horoscope"
Copyright©1998
Natalie Lynn
acrylic on paper
15" x 17"

$2,500

A colorful abstract. This is a depiction of a Mayan Horoscope showing the person for whom it was done as a "7EE, the Spiritual Path."

4.

"IQ”

 Mayan Window
Copyright©2001
Natalie Lynn
acrylic and plaster on canvas
"10 x 15"

$2,800

From the classic Mayan period, this window is found in many homes and temples.  "Iq" means the wind, breath, air, and symbolizes purification.  There is a place for people to sit on the sides of the "T."  (When I build my house, I will have a Mayan window in it like this one.)

6.

"Ceremony"
Copyright©2000
Natalie Lynn
 acrylic on canvas
"16 x 15"

$1,500

A depiction of a Mayan fire ceremony done in a bowl for making prayers. I painted this picture in Guatemala.

7.

"Invisible Guardian"

Natalie Lynn
acrylic on canvas
13" x 14"

$2,500

A painting done after a ceremony, a sacred tradition practiced by Mayan priests for focused prayer.  A gentle reminder that even when we feel very alone, we are not.  We are always being guided and protected.

8.

"South"
Copyright©2002
Natalie Lynn
acrylic on canvas
12" x 12"

$1,300

The south, the place of growth where the sun from the east meets with the moon from the west and creates magic in the north.  South represents the power of growth and fertility.

9.

"East"
Copyright©1999
Natalie Lynn
fire acrylic on canvas with string
20" x 28"

$2,300

Mayan symbol, east represents the place of hope, sunrise, light that guides and lights one's path, fire.

10.

"North"
Copyright©1999
Natalie Lynn
acrylic on canvas
22" x 15"

$3,400

Sold.

Mayan symbol for north, the magical place.  The painting shows the magician with three spheres representing the sun, moon, and earth.  Their union creates magic.  The xotil flower in the background represents creativity, love, and beauty.

11.

"Milky Way"
Copyright©2000
Natalie Lynn
acrylic on canvas
27" x 35"

$4,600

Inspired by an image of our milky way.  I used blue colors to create a soothing and calm feeling.  The ancient Mayans knew that the milky way was a spiral and used the symbol for "G" to represent this.

12.

"Universe"
Copyright©2000
Natalie Lynn
acrylic on canvas
27" x 35"

$5,500

A depiction of the universe copied from an astronomical photograph.  Painting these astral sky shapes was amazingly liberating and fun.  The Mayans view of the universe is that we are part of it and nurture our connection with prayer.  This painting is multifaceted: one can see many different images.
