From the classic Mayan period, this window is found in many homes and temples. "Iq" means the wind, breath, air, and symbolizes purification. There is a place for people to sit on the sides of the "T." (When I build my house, I will have a Mayan window in it like this one.) |

10. "North" $3,400 |
Mayan symbol for north, the magical place. The
painting shows the magician with three spheres representing the sun, moon,

11. "Milky
Way" $4,600 |
Inspired by an image of our milky way. I used blue colors to create a soothing and calm feeling. The ancient Mayans knew that the milky way was a spiral and used the symbol for "G" to represent this. |

|
12. "Universe" $5,500 |
A depiction of the universe copied from an astronomical photograph. Painting these astral sky shapes was amazingly liberating and fun. The Mayans view of the universe is that we are part of it and nurture our connection with prayer. This painting is multifaceted: one can see many different images. |
